In 1962, in the heart of Cajun Country, Eunice native Jerome Moore opened a new business: the Eunice Superette and Slaughterhouse - combination grocery store and meat supplier. His mission was to provide quality meats and service for his loyal customers. Through time, the new business grew - and with growth, comes change. In 1987, facing a growing demand for quality meat service in the area, Jerome closed his grocery store and expanded his animal processing facility. Since that time, Mr. Moore's dream and perseverance has been carried on through his family. Randall, his son, and Donnie, Derek, Melissa, and Willie, his grandchildren, proudly continue Jerome Moore's passion.
The "Superette," as we are known locally, has not only become Louisiana's largest state inspected animal processor, but it has become a geographical landmark on the Cajun Prairie, renowned far and wide for its boudin, specialty meats, and family service. In South Louisiana food is not simply a basic need; it is our passion, the centerpiece of our social events, and the subject of bragging rights! Cajuns love to cook and demand only the best ingredients. And, we at the "Superette" take pride in providing only the best for our Cajun cooks.
